Pastor: Jeremy Hockett

Lincoln Baptist Church has been a part of Pastor Hockett's life for many years. He started attending with his parents as a young child, and at the age of 9 was already getting involved in the ministries of the church by working faithfully in the bus ministry.
Pastor Hockett was saved on Easter Sunday, 1983, after hearing the Word of God preached, realizing his need for salvation, and calling upon the Lord to be his Savior.
At the age of 16 he surrendered his life to the call of God to be a preacher of the Gospel, though it was not without a struggle. He initially told God he would do anything He wanted him to do, but he "wasn't going to be a preacher." He was trained in the local church for the ministry of the pastorate.
In 2005, Bro. Hockett began teaching the High School Sunday School class, and began filling in for Pastor Lindbloom in the preaching services soon after. He was ordained and asked to serve as Associate Pastor in 2007.
As time went along it became clear to both Bro. Lindbloom and Bro. Hockett that God wanted him to be the next pastor of Lincoln Baptist Church. The transition was one that happened both gradually and smoothly.
In August of 2020 a special service was held officially marking the change of pastorate from Bro. Lindbloom to Bro. Hockett when Pastor Lindbloom retired. We are excited to see what the Lord has for us in the years to come.

Pastor Emeritus: Vernon Lindbloom

Dr. Lindbloom began life in Kansas. From childhood, church was always a part of his life.  Although raised in a protestant church, his mother was a Baptist who taught him Biblical truth throughout his early life. At the age of twenty-eight, while working for a Kansas rancher, young Lindbloom trusted the Lord as his Saviour and six years later he surrendered to God’s call to preach.  He was ordained in 1970 and began pastoring his first church the same year.  He would pastor four other churches in Kansas and Texas before becoming the sixth pastor of Lincoln Baptist Church in Wichita, KS over twenty-seven years ago. Believing young men called into the ministry are best taught by their own local pastor and church, Pastor Lindbloom founded Mid-West Baptist College in 1987 to begin training a young man whom God called to preach.  Over the years, Dr. Lindbloom preached many special meetings and mission’s conferences throughout the U.S. and internationally in Canada and Mexico.  Several years ago, then Alabama governor George Wallace blessed Dr. Lindbloom by making him an honorary Lieutenant Colonel.  Additionally, the degree of D.D. was bestowed upon Dr. Lindbloom by Great Plains Baptist Divinity School of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dr. Lindbloom has a sincere desire to train preachers and others the truth of God's Word under the authority of a local New Testament Baptist church. Pastor Lindbloom retired from the pastorate August of 2020, but remains a vital part of the work here at Lincoln Baptist Church.
